MN State Government

The state government is divided into 3 branches much like the federal government (executive, legislative, judicial).

- Each branch of state government functions the same as their federal counterpart.

Governor, the chief executive of the state:

- Executes laws

- Serves as Commander and Chief of MN National Guard

- Fills vacancies in key state positions if they occur between elections

- Serves as an ambassador for our state to other states and foreign countries
